METHOD A: Manually attach a PDF to an existing reference

Purpose

1. In your EndNote Desktop library, select (click) the reference you would like to attach the PDF to, then:

one. Configure your EndNote Desktop settings:

a) Become to yourFind Full Text options:

• On Windows:Edit > Preferences > Detect Full Text

• On a Mac:EndNote 20 > Preferences > Find Full Text

b) Within yourFind Full Textoptions:

• OFF CAMPUS (e.g. from home):

  1. Ensure that theOpenURL option is ticked.

  4. PressOK.

• ON CAMPUS (at RMIT):

  1. Ensure that theOpenURL option is ticked.

  2. In theOpenURL Path, copy and paste this link: https://rmit.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/openurl?establishment=61RMIT_INST&vid=61RMIT_INST:RMITU&

  3. Cheque that the Authenticate with URL isempty -- do not type annihilation inside.

  4. PressOK.

2. Automatically find and adhere full-text PDFs:

a) Select i or more references in your EndNote Desktop library

b) Become EndNote to observe and attach the total-text PDFs using one of these options:

• References > Find Full Text > Find Full Text, OR

• Click on theDetect Full Text push on the right of the toolbar towards the top, OR

• Correct-click on selected reference(south) and click onFind Full Text

iii. The PDFs accept now been attached to relevant references in your EndNote Desktop library, as evident by the paperclip icon  next to each i. They will also appear within the Institute PDF icon under theFind Full Text department.

iv. If any number of references appear within the Found URL icon it ways that, although EndNote found the full-text PDFs for those references, information technology could only provide the URL links that lead to those PDFs. It could NOT attach the PDFs to your references. You lot will need to individually open each affected reference, scroll down to the URL field and click on the link to download the PDF. So manually adhere the PDF to its corresponding reference in your EndNote Desktop library using METHOD A above.

5.PDFs that were non found nor attached due to having no DOI, will appear within theNot establish icon . Yous will need to first find and manually download those PDFs yourself, then followMETHOD A higher up.
